After more than 40 years as bassist, songwriter, and visual force in legendary Danish rock band D-A-D, Stig Pedersen steps fully into his alter ego Stiggenasty with the six-track mini-LP Captain Amar.
What began as a personal promise — “If not a solo record now, then never” — has evolved into a bold, high-energy release driven by instinct, attitude, and pure love for music.
Captain Amar sees Stiggenasty reinterpret a wildly diverse set of songs that shaped him — from Alice Cooper and Slim Rhodes (Sun Records) to Psychic TV, The Nuns, and Finnish cult favorites Hearthill. Spanning shock rock, punk, experimental art-rock, rockabilly, and gothic doom influences, the record somehow coheres into a turbo-charged, personal statement.
Produced by Nick Foss, the EP features an impressive lineup including:
Sune Rose Wagner (The Raveonettes)
Peter Sandorff (Hola Ghost, ex-Nekromantix)
Lars Top-Galia (Sort Sol)
Special guest violinist Ufo Mustonen, reprising his original 1988 performance.
The result is raw, immediate, and unapologetically alive — a record made without overthinking, powered by feel rather than formula.
Captain Amar will be released worldwide on April 24, 2026, as a gatefold 12” vinyl edition featuring photography by Karen Rosetzsky and Kevin Westenberg.
